Secondo il New York Post, molto neocon, ora la Turchia dovra avvicinarsi ai paesi che combattono a viso aperto il terrorismo. Il New York Times invece parla di un “ brutto giorno per l’Europa”. Fa riferimento a chi a Londra ha manifestato contro Bush e Blair, e indica la via di una Turchia piu integrata e democratica, essenziale per creare stabilita nell’area. Per l’America il Times ha un timore:
Every American president must do what is necessary to defend the security of the United States, even when close allies disagree. Mr. Bush, however, has embraced unilateralism not as an extraordinary policy option, but as his dominant international theme. Compounding that error could leave America increasingly alone and increasingly endangered.
