In un piccolo villaggio delle terre che tanto affascinarono Chatwin (e non solo…) restano appena sei persone capaci di parlare il Kawesqar, una lingua parlata in quelle terre sin dalla notte dei tempi. Quello della sparizione delle lingue è un problema quantomai attuale:
